Harpenden ran rampant with 6-1 derby day thrashing at home to Colney Heath
Harpenden made a bright start to proceedings and their first chance came through Charlie Smith as his freekick was parried wide, Town came close again soon after as Danny Webb played a lovely cross to Elliot Bailey who tapped his shot just wide.
The breakthrough came on 26 minutes, as Elliot Bailey was able to get to the rebound off a Danny Webb shot and break the deadlock.
Moments later, the visitors had the chance to equalise on the break, but the Fa cup hero Conor Freeman denied the Magpies in which proved to be a pivotal moment from the following clearance, the ball found Isaiah Hilaire who made a great run before playing Elliot Bailey in behind as the Harps forward nutmegged Liam Gauthier to give him his second goal of the afternoon and his third of the season.
It got even better as Harpenden kept the momentum, Danny Webb playing a lovely pass to Isaiah Hilaire who calmly finished for his first goal of the season making it three goals in 4 minutes for Harpenden.
In the second half, it didn’t take long for Harpenden to score again, as last year’s top goal scorer, Danny Webb got on the scoresheet, Isaiah Hilaire claimed his second assist driving into the box, beating the defence and cutting it back to find Webb making it 4-0.
Colney Heath grabbed a consolation goal through a nice counter attack as Ejjayah scored for the visitors however Harpenden’s momentum wasn't stopped as they kept pushing for a fifth and it came on 83 minutes as Dylan Joyce scored his first goal for Harpenden Town, the goal coming from five yards out from an Ollie Salami ball across the penalty area.
Harpenden got their sixth in stoppage time, Ollie Salami scored from a cutback after a cross found its way to him and he slammed it into the net to round off an impressive home win for an Harpenden Town who continue their unbeaten start.
