Harpenden Town fall to a late 2-0 defeat at home to Arlesey.
Harpenden started brightly, a long ball to Isiah Hillaire left him with a good chance on goal. He drove with the ball but blazed it over the bar, Isaiah Hillaire continued to be a menace to the Arlesey backline, he cut inside and played a ball to Danny Webb who hit his shot straight at the keeper before Arlesey scrambled it clear.
Connor Freeman was called into action soon after: good play by Arlesey as the ball found Colin Mugoya Tabingwa in behind but Connor got down quick to make the save.
Harpenden Town had some great chances before the half to take the lead, Henry Jones with some good play on the wing before playing in Danny Webb was played in behind and had his shot parried wide by the Arlesey keeper, before Henry Jones had his own chance to score but his shot was tipped past the post as the two teams went into the break level.
The second half was quiet, the harsh conditions affecting both teams ability to put any proper play together. Arlesey came closest, a cross whipped in from the right and Connor Freeman missed the flight of the ball. However, Ezra Forde could only head onto the crossbar with the whole net to aim at.
The game remained gritty with no real edge between the two sides but then late on the breakthrough occurred; and late heartbreak for the Harps, as a long shot from Ezra Forde looked to be a routine save in the bottom corner, but took a large deflection and into the net.
Harpenden looked to get an equaliser and pushed men forward, and that gave Arlesey the chance to finish the game off in added time as Allie Bangura slotted past Conor Freeman to make it 2-0 and give the visitors all three points.
